Conquest of organicity within the Liège's 19th-20th century serial-linear tissues

The formation of Liège tissues shown below -which to a quick look of the title may seem contradictory in its behavioral logic- actually shows the unique ability of Walloon culture to acquire an appropriate organicity in the progressive formation of aggregates born between the 19th and the first decades of the 20th century. Unlike the behavior that occurs in other urban realities, especially in those which are very large and in the metropolises -where expansions are implemented through extensive land and road plans- extra moenia growth is here rebuilt with the analysis of five districts: Bressoux, Guillemins -Fregnée-Avroy, Angleur, Longdoz, S. Leonard (of which only the first two will be analyzed) shows a formative mechanics based on the dialectical binomial , which explains the phenomenon produced between the initial structuring (the result of a 'Conscious activity limited to the action of individuals), and the subsequent completion, symptomatic of a marked criticism expressed by collective action that leads to a gradual maturation of aggregates. In fact, all the examined cases testify, in the founding phase, a prevailing and voluntary action proposed by some individuals who build their house linearly along the pre-existing routes (see the very serial and dilated structure of the routes: Rue S. Leonard and Rue Vivegnis in the district of Saint Leonard, Quai Orban and Rue du Beau Mur in the Longdoz neighborhood, Quai de Rome and Rue Sain Gilles in the Guillemins neighborhood, Rue d’Amercoeur and Rue Sous l’Eau in the Bressoux neighborhood), followed by the next initiative to neatly structuring each one of them, up to acquire the consciousness which is not a simple set of elementary aggregates, but an higher degree entity is defined: precisely the neighborhood which must have a proper autonomy and must relate in a complementary manner to the entire urban organism. Autonomy -and not self-sufficiency- means also be aware to "compose" an organized arrangement of the blocks that include the residences, but also to plan the productive-work activities that ensure the necessary organicity. Therefore appear industries that become -together with the special buildings (churches, schools, universities, office buildings, etc.) that have gradually grown to polarize the tissue- "self-conscious" regulation systems by which every urban district entity conquers its autonomy.
