This work presents the application of AWS D.1.1/D1.1 M:2002 for the evaluation of stresses due to realignment of welded sheet in butt joint configuration with an initial misalingnment. The finite element code Sysweld was employed to simulate and analyze this problem using a coupling method between thermal and mechanical routines.
