This work is concerned about applicability of Morse Theory to a class of quasilinear problems whose solutions are critical points of a functional defined on a Sobolev Banach space which has not a Hilbert structure. The work explains what kinds of difficulties arise, shows the crucial role of critical groups and finally announces a result about the computation of such critical groups.
