This paper provides an accurate and robust hybrid fluctuation splitting scheme for the two-dimensional compressible Euler equations. The approach switches from a linear matrix LDA scheme in subsonic flow regions to a nonlinear scaler PSI scheme in supersonic ones. The method provides second-order-accurate solutions for subsonic, transonic and supersonic flows, captures shocks monotonically, and does not encounter any convergence difficulty.
