Reduction of cis-[Ni{P(C6H11)(2)H}(2)Cl-2] with sodium afforded the dinuclear nickel complex [{Ni[mu-P(C6H11)(2)][P(C6H11)(2)H]}(2)] which, in turn, reacted with CO producing [{Ni[mu-P(C6H11)(2)](CO)(2)}(2)]. The reduction of cis-[Pd{P(C6H11)(2)H]}(2)Cl-2] occurred in two steps giving first [Pd-2{mu-P(C6H11)(2)}Cl{P(C6H11)(2)H}(3)], then [{Pd[mu-P(C6H11)(2)][P(C6H11)(2)H]}(2)]. The structure of the chloride complex was determined.
