The prospects for the search of the Standard Model Higgs boson in the decay channel H/ZZ(*)/4leptons (4e, 4m or 2e2m) with the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented. The analysis relies on a full simulation of the detector response and emphasis is put on the analysis steps and the strategies for the measurement of experimental and background systematics from data. The sensistivity reach at 14 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 1 fb is derived as a function of the Higgs mass.

Abstract

The prospects for the search of the Standard Model Higgs boson in the decay channel H/ZZ(*)/4leptons (4e, 4m or 2e2m) with the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented. The analysis relies on a full simulation of the detector response and emphasis is put on the analysis steps and the strategies for the measurement of experimental and background systematics from data. The sensistivity reach at 14 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 1 fb is derived as a function of the Higgs mass.
