The paper deals with a PWM AC/DC converter based on the fuzzy control of the output capacitor charge/discharge process. The proposed control system satisfies sinusoidal input currents, unity power factor and constant output voltage by means of an optimised management of the energy exchanged between the AC supply and the output capacitor. The simulations show a very good dynamic behaviour of the system at both start-up and load current step variations.

Abstract

The paper deals with a PWM AC/DC converter based on the fuzzy control of the output capacitor charge/discharge process. The proposed control system satisfies sinusoidal input currents, unity power factor and constant output voltage by means of an optimised management of the energy exchanged between the AC supply and the output capacitor. The simulations show a very good dynamic behaviour of the system at both start-up and load current step variations.
