Abstract

The city, concrete representation of the civilizations that they have stratified themselves, is 'organism' in its more authentic meaning. It is 'together of connected parts tightly and collaborating in unitary way to the same goal' that they show, in their sequence, the distinctive characters proper of the cultures that have manifested them. So interpreted it proposes himself as a corporate body in which the transformations interrelate and employees appear from the concretized civil mutations and that they have tangibly defined the evolution of it. To try reread the "evident signs" of the process of progressive change which the city has made petition in the time implicates, from who interprets them, the ability to know how to seek (and to employ) tools suitable of analysis, that allows to understand the causes that the trials govern in action in the urban organism and are, at the same time, applicable in flexible way to the nearly indefinite cases of the reality. Devices of reading that are diversified in relationship, both to the diachronic character of the "type of city" examined, both to the "geographical - cultural area" that it manifests such identitary characters. The teachings Typologic and morphological characters of the architecture and Architectural Planning 1D, founded in the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic in Bari, they deal him to study the evolutionary processes of the antropic structures to the different staircases postulating the application of a procedure of analysis can be applied, evidently, also to the close examination of the urban transformations. It founds him on the fundamental elaborate hypotheses (partial and therefore integrated with other disciplines) with the typologic - processual (planning) method based really on the principal notions of “organism” and “building type”. Therefore on a theoretical vision that "he thinks" the city in his essence of living organism constituted of interdependent parts in continuous transformation. Place in which the distinctions social and typologic, as revealed by the buildings in the time, they are to put on in hold correlation with the necessity of the man to draw spaces useful to develop functions individual and collective. And whose study, performed by the process through the call to the phenomenic of husserlian matrix, it allows to understand them in their concrete essence of varying structures and not “previously existing” beyond the experience of the becoming. Then, the process of transformation that every type of examined city shows (Ancient, Middle Ages, Renaissance, etc. Baroque, of the XIX and XX century, Modern / European, Asian, American, ...), observed and submitted to comparative analysis, he is appraised critically so that to try to reconstruct it "law" of behavior that governs them. From it, to extract possible mechanics of control of the project to urban staircase. And in fact, the principal ways to be revealed some urban organism, with his innumerable and complex contradictions, considered in “form” of concept, they become initial source of the reflection by planning. It is to intend with a meaning that puts in evidence the dominant character of our epoch: that is the being active, to know how to propose and to transform the past. Attitude that can adequately be represented with the German term Machenschaft.
