Abstract

When the rights of citizenship become those that accompany an individual regardless of where he is, the identification of this infinite space, of this new common place, brings with it a way of living in the world that undoubtedly challenges purely identity-defining, oppositional national citizenship. [...] we are faced with a new rationality whose foundations lie in the increasingly intense connection between individuals and the outside world, with a force of expansion that extends as far as the borders of the overall redefinition of the individual's placement within a global social organization, identified through the characteristics of the goods to be protected as common goods, as demonstrated, for example, by online acquaintance" (Rodotà, 2013, p.465). We can understand how the observation regarding common goods is a fundamental premise for understanding complex sharing processes. In this sense, they usher in a historic turning point for redefining the social placement of the individual, his needs, and the answers the design can provid.
