Bari: due governi urbani. Elementi di persistenza e discontinuità

The decade from 1997 to 2007 marked by the phenomenon of "New Mayors" is analyzed for the action of government planning that two parts of the political council implement for the city of Bari, in order to: physical changes, availability of urban services, environmental conditions, state of the economy and innovation of urban planning instruments. In the comparative analysis will highlight differences and recurrences of the two municipal governments. The verification of the efficiency and effectiveness of urban policies implemented by the two phases are still out the particular condition at that time the city is still planned by a planning instrument produced in the late sixties. This condition puts on both the experiences of government, despite the strong differences that distinguish a mortgage on real ability to give an answer to changing environmental conditions, social and economic aspects of contemporary Bari
