The electron impact dissociative ionisation of H-2 and D2 Molecules, at 40 and 100 eV electron impact energy, has been studied using the time of flight technique, to determine the whole kinetic energy distributions of protons and deuterons, including the low energy part of the distributions. The contribution of autoionising states to the dissociative ionisation is discussed.

Abstract

The electron impact dissociative ionisation of H-2 and D2 Molecules, at 40 and 100 eV electron impact energy, has been studied using the time of flight technique, to determine the whole kinetic energy distributions of protons and deuterons, including the low energy part of the distributions. The contribution of autoionising states to the dissociative ionisation is discussed.
