As part of the surgical correction of scoliosis, we designed and optimized a system to reconstitute, in the kinematic and positional aspect, individual vertebrae, a realignment of the spine allowing the movements of flexion-extension with the exclusion of the axial rotations and of lateral bending of vertebrae. This allows you to replace the orthopedic corsets, allows the dynamic stabilization in the correct posture and, moreover, to intervene in the process of recovery and healing of the deformity of the scoliotic curve. The system is equally valid in degenerative disease that re-creates the conditions for acquiring the vertebrae of flexion-extension movements with the exclusion of outliers that are created when the disc degenerates. This device, engaging through pedicle screws, acts parallel to the vertebral bodies concerned, allowing to decrease the stresses of abnormal load due to the scoliotic curve. The mechanism implanted posterior to the affected section guides the motions of the lumbar spine in flexion-extension physiological. The system is composed of repeated modules on the levels to be treated. Each module consists of subparts connected by prismatic and rotary couplings with games to be calibrated according to the desired behavior. The particular shape of the coupling of pedicle screw in a single module allows adjustment of the system adaptable to the individual physiology.
