The 'Frido' Project (Basilicata Region, Southern Italy) comprises: the catchment of the Frido springs; their protection from the fluvial erosion and the sliding on the opposite unstable slope;the conveyance of the fresh waters with a long tunnel, which is affected by instability phenomena. The maintenance of the functions of the project has requested an accurate study of the pathologies evolution. These interest the whole complex of works, built about 30 years ago. So it has been performed a diversified system of instrumentations, connected with a monitoring system. The monitored phenomena involve; climatic and hydrological parameters; groundwaters; slope stability in an heterogeneous and tectonized geological environment; axial deformation of a steel reinforced section of the tunnel (where in previous time we recorded a shortening of 6 mm per year). The complexity of scenario has requested an articulate selection of instrumentations, measuring techniques and data management.
