The present work is focused on the analysis of the lumbar spine with the aim of studying the influence and the roles that the different components of the spine play on its biomechanical response. In particular the presence of the cartilagineous endplates separating the soft tissues of the intervertebral disc from the strong bone of the vertebrae will be studied.

Abstract

The present work is focused on the analysis of the lumbar spine with the aim of studying the influence and the roles that the different components of the spine play on its biomechanical response. In particular the presence of the cartilagineous endplates separating the soft tissues of the intervertebral disc from the strong bone of the vertebrae will be studied.
