Recent research has challenged the service transition assumption, suggesting that manufactures pursue higher levels of service infusion by expanding, rather than transitioning, into advanced services. We test this re-conceptualisation of the service infusion process as an extension of the offering by examining a sample of 110 servitized manufacturing companies using multivariate regression and cluster analysis. The results confirm the concept of service extension as central to the strategic development process of service infusion.

Abstract
Recent research has challenged the service transition assumption, suggesting that manufactures pursue higher levels of service infusion by expanding, rather than transitioning, into advanced services. We test this re-conceptualisation of the service infusion process as an extension of the offering by examining a sample of 110 servitized manufacturing companies using multivariate regression and cluster analysis. The results confirm the concept of service extension as central to the strategic development process of service infusion.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
