Apulia offers very interesting buildings to be considered what structures of stone regards. Geographically apart from the great artistic centers in Italy - however open to influences coming by sea from other areas and above all from near East - and geologically marked by the presence of outcrops and scattered stone materials, Puglia shows – what the topic at building stone regards - families of architectural and structural forms marked by strong dependence from local materials and as result of many stylistic mixing. This study will face a typically object in Apulia well known to national and international historiography, not only to historians of architecture and architects but also to geographers, ethnographers, anthropologists and archaeologists, that is to say the construction of stone dry. Especially we will look at a topic of a often overlooked technical nature, which considers the survey of the geometric conformation of these artifacts. To be deepened in our study are the interior surfaces of these artifacts solved in almost all dry stone construction in Apulia with the solution of the “in aggetto” dome.
