This paper introduces a new class of multiple fractional-order phase lead networks in control system synthesis. Numerators and denominators of analogue realizations of the irrational network units are given in closed forms by an efficient, iterative scheme. These new multiple networks improve the flatness of the phase-frequency plots that is important for a robust design. Moreover, the proposed closed forms of the compensators allow easy tuning and implementation of the controllers. A case study shows the efficiency and robustness of the new fractional compensators.

Abstract

This paper introduces a new class of multiple fractional-order phase lead networks in control system synthesis. Numerators and denominators of analogue realizations of the irrational network units are given in closed forms by an efficient, iterative scheme. These new multiple networks improve the flatness of the phase-frequency plots that is important for a robust design. Moreover, the proposed closed forms of the compensators allow easy tuning and implementation of the controllers. A case study shows the efficiency and robustness of the new fractional compensators.
