Abstract

In this paper, an overview of two tools oriented to voltage security contingency analysis and preventive control is provided to show the feasibility of Voltage Security Assessment (VSA). The two pieces of software were developed independently by two research groups in Italy and U.S.A. Numerical results on realistic-sized power systems are provided to support the theoretical developments.
