Abstract

In the paper constitutive models of masonry are described. Masonry has been modelled in different ways: a material with a perfect elastic behavior in compression, with bounded tensile strength, with bounded brittle tensile strength and, finally, a material tensile strength that is function of the strain level. The curvature- moment constitutive relations referred to abending sections are obtained. The results are compared to those experimentally obtained.
