The objective of this work is to investigate the influence of the main operating parameters (design and process) on a paper converting process. A production plant was selected on the basis of its current transformation from a traditional embosser to an innovative one with a fast roll changer. The quality of the paper products with the two different embossers have been evaluated in terms of mechanical strength and tissue softness. The experimental activity and related testing of products are fully described.
