A new algorithm for plane-curve splitting is presented. The basic idea is to select pieces of the plane curve that are uniformly deformed during change in shape among patterns belonging to the same similarity class. The change is considered as a dynamic phenomenon consistent with the human visual system perception. Some experimental results on the splitting of handwritten numerals are presented.

Abstract
A new algorithm for plane-curve splitting is presented. The basic idea is to select pieces of the plane curve that are uniformly deformed during change in shape among patterns belonging to the same similarity class. The change is considered as a dynamic phenomenon consistent with the human visual system perception. Some experimental results on the splitting of handwritten numerals are presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
