Aim of this work is to present the preliminary results of the RADON research project. In this project an innovative sensor network has been designed to monitor in near real time the concentration of the radon gas inside schools and other public buildings. Each sensor has been designed to have an intelligent component making it able to handle the physical sensors output and the interaction with the external world (communication with interface system, other sensors in the network, actuator to modify the environment conditions). Furthermore, the project aims to enlarge the number of stakeholders attracting the interest of citizens about the problem of radon gas according to Living Labs methodology. The interaction between GIS and social networks will be investigated to meet this objective.

Abstract
Aim of this work is to present the preliminary results of the RADON research project. In this project an innovative sensor network has been designed to monitor in near real time the concentration of the radon gas inside schools and other public buildings. Each sensor has been designed to have an intelligent component making it able to handle the physical sensors output and the interaction with the external world (communication with interface system, other sensors in the network, actuator to modify the environment conditions). Furthermore, the project aims to enlarge the number of stakeholders attracting the interest of citizens about the problem of radon gas according to Living Labs methodology. The interaction between GIS and social networks will be investigated to meet this objective.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
