The objective of the present research is to investigate modifications induced by laser beam welding onto steel/aluminum bond interface of commercial structural transition joints (STJs). The experimental activity is divided into two main phases related to (i) bead-on-plate of STJs and double square fillet T-Joint of base materials and (ii) double side/double square fillet T-joints between STJs and web base materials. The analysis was supported by metallographic examination and mechanical testing.
