The steady state analysis of standard day oligopolistic electricity market was presented. A complex model was proposed by eliminating the related problems of oligopolistic electricity market. The presence of congestion of the transmission system was considered as an important factor in the model. The effects of congestion on the strategic behavior of generating companies were also investigated in the proposed model. The effectiveness of the proposed method was experimented on IEEE 20-bus system, assuming that the relative marketplace consisted of three different generating companies.

Abstract

The steady state analysis of standard day oligopolistic electricity market was presented. A complex model was proposed by eliminating the related problems of oligopolistic electricity market. The presence of congestion of the transmission system was considered as an important factor in the model. The effects of congestion on the strategic behavior of generating companies were also investigated in the proposed model. The effectiveness of the proposed method was experimented on IEEE 20-bus system, assuming that the relative marketplace consisted of three different generating companies.
