Elegia del frammento. Incontro con l'artista partinicese Filippo Grillo

The Sicilian artist Filippo Grillo was born and lives in Partinico (Palermo). In his place, an ancient palace in the heart of the town, he collects many ethno-anthropological finds, a collection recently destined to be the core of a museum due to be born in the short term. But collecting, joining together and assembling items, are not only the symptom of how his whole life is a mosaic of multifaceted experiences, but also a metaphor of what the collage, his principal art form, can represent. Thanks to this artistic genre, Filippo Grillo, expresses an overview over the contemporary society, made of fragmented crossing-over visual flows, but furthermore he reaches a highly lyrical and elegiac expressive quality, where the influence of his Sicilian and Mediterranean origins is definitely evident. Abstract masterworks in which, thanks to what can be defined his “aesthetics of the fragment”, the user can find a world of references and can be linked to submerged archetypes.
