Projects for the redevelopment of the monumental axis of Tirana Some laboratories degree of the Faculty of Architecture of Bari have studied the issues of knowledge, enhancement and restoration of historical monuments of the modern Tirana, searching for a model of different development from the areas of Northern Europe. The Viale dell’Impero, a monumental avenue built in Tirana between the '20s and '40s by Italian architects, consists in a sequence of isolated buildings in green space. The enlargement of these buildings allowed to accommodate within them open but bounded spaces, similar to squares. The projects look at the "Italian measure," according to a continuity with architectural features of modern Tirana.
