This paper illustrates the new class of the super-shaped sinuous antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The antenna shape is analytically described by a special formula based on both 2D superformula and the sinuous one. The designed antennas have a radius of 3 cm lying on a RT/duroid® 5880 substrate. The analysis was carried out in the frequency range from 1 GHz to 10 GHz and the antenna performance was evaluated in terms of realized gain and beamwidth compared to the conventional one. Moreover, in order to have more degrees of freedom for performance optimizations and miniaturization enhancement an additional free parameter d was considered.
