Passive Kerr resonators enable agile frequency comb generators in the visible and the near-infrared. We demonstrate coherently driven integrated active ring resonators with an effective Kerr nonlinearity arising from gain saturation, paving the way to reconfigurable frequency combs in the mid-infrared.
