«Mentre a Roma si discute…» Il progetto di Giorgio Grassi per il Teatro Romano di Sagunto

The archaeological find, especially if inserted in urban contexts, represents a fringe of the ancient particularly complex and delicate, with respect to which the project of Giorgio Grassi for the Roman Theatre of Sagunto in Spain, represents an antinomy capable of generating an access debate, certainly not inconsistent. Beyond all that can be opined of it, it is a project decidedly “strong”, highly professional, that breaks resistance, goodwill and reactionary attitudes, with respect to whose choices, the density of the design entity overwhelms the even acceptable critical. Through comparison with other works, not only by Grassi, but above all through the author’s re- flection on the ancient, the concept of “restoration” fits into the design definition.
