Electric vehicles are the talk of the town today as a replacement for conventional IC engine vehicles in order to replace fossil fuels and move towards a greener environment. But several other factors are also to be considered during this progression. It is a known fact that electric vehicles use batteries for locomotion, which can be made using various chemistries. The most commonly used battery type for EVs is the lithium-ion battery. Though it offers many advantages, the limited availability of lithium and the after-life disposal of those batteries remain areas of concern. To overcome this, reusing or recycling used EV batteries is a possible option. Proper management of used batteries paves the way for the reduction in the overall cost of an electric vehicle, thereby indirectly encouraging their usage among consumers. This paper summarizes various areas of repurposing EV batteries, along with their feasibility, and looks into the scope of development in the near future.

Abstract
