In this contribute, the design and development of a dual-polarized stacked patch array intended for satellite communication (SATCOM) terminals, with particular relevance to SATCOM-on-the-move (SOTM) platforms is presented. The antenna operates across the [10.7–14.5] GHz frequency range, which includes the European Ku-band downlink ([10.7–12.75] GHz) and uplink ([13.75–14.5] GHz) ranges exploited in SOTM services. Due to the critical application sector, the array has been optimized in order to maximize performances in terms of impedance matching, port to port isolation, and copolar-to-cross-polar ratio ensuring stable performance accounting also the fabrication tolerance effects.

Abstract
In this contribute, the design and development of a dual-polarized stacked patch array intended for satellite communication (SATCOM) terminals, with particular relevance to SATCOM-on-the-move (SOTM) platforms is presented. The antenna operates across the [10.7–14.5] GHz frequency range, which includes the European Ku-band downlink ([10.7–12.75] GHz) and uplink ([13.75–14.5] GHz) ranges exploited in SOTM services. Due to the critical application sector, the array has been optimized in order to maximize performances in terms of impedance matching, port to port isolation, and copolar-to-cross-polar ratio ensuring stable performance accounting also the fabrication tolerance effects.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
