Abstract

A complete set of cross sections for the process e + H-2(X 1SIGMA(g)+, nu(i))/D2(X 1SIGMA(g)+, nu1) --> e + H-2(B 1SIGMA(u)+, C 1PI(u))/D2(B 1SIGMA(u)+, C 1PI(u)) --> e + H-2(X 1SIGMA(g)+, nu(f))/D2(X 1SIGMA(g)+, v(f)) + hnu has been obtained by using recent calculated excitation cross sections in combination with Einstein probabilities linking vibrational excited states of electronically excited states and the corresponding ones of ground state. An isotopic effect is found into the cross sections: in particular the H-2 Cross sections are up to a factor 1.5 larger than the corresponding D2 cross sections for nu(i) = 0 and nu(f) < 7 vibrational states.
