The Semantic Web of Things (SWoT) blends the Semantic Web and the Internet of Things visions. Due to architectural and performance issues, it is currently impractical to use available reasoners for processing semantic-based information in pervasive computing scenarios. This paper presents a prototypical mobile matchmaker for the SWoT, supporting Semantic Web technologies and implementing both standard and non-standard inference tasks for moderately expressive knowledge bases. Architectural and functional features are presented and an experimental performance evaluation is provided both on PCs and smartphones.

Abstract
The Semantic Web of Things (SWoT) blends the Semantic Web and the Internet of Things visions. Due to architectural and performance issues, it is currently impractical to use available reasoners for processing semantic-based information in pervasive computing scenarios. This paper presents a prototypical mobile matchmaker for the SWoT, supporting Semantic Web technologies and implementing both standard and non-standard inference tasks for moderately expressive knowledge bases. Architectural and functional features are presented and an experimental performance evaluation is provided both on PCs and smartphones.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
