Electron-impact cross sections for the process H-2(B (1) Sigma(u)(+),nu(i))+e-->H-2(I (1) Pi(g))+e have been calculated as a function of the collision energy and for different vibrational quantum numbers nu(i) in the frame of impact-parameter method. Total and dissociative cross sections are compared with those referred to electronic transitions involving the ground electronic state of H-2 (X (1) Sigma(g)(+) --> B (1) Sigma(u)(+) and X (1) Sigma(g)(+) --> C (1) Pi(u)). Moreover, rate coefficients as a function of the vibrational state of the molecule are reported for different temperatures and for both B-->I and X-->B transitions, briefly discussing the role of these two processes in the H- negative-ion production.
