A base fabric of PTFE coated glass of great strength and coated on both sides by polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was analyzed. Interfacial strains between the matrix fibers were measured using electronic interferometric holography. The displacements in two orthogonal directions were measured using a two-beam interferometer. The final output was provided by the Holo-Moiré Strain Analyzer (HMSA) giving the principal strains and their directions in the region of observation. The optical method was validated using the strain gauges.
