The rapid prototyping of phenol resin-coated sand casting molds by selective laser sintering was investigated. The CO2 and diode lasers were used for the same. The experimental design techniques were used to study laser power, scan spacing and scan speed. The laser irradiation effects on the quality and accuracy of the surfaces, the adhesion between grains and layers, and the sintered thickness were evaluated.

Abstract
The rapid prototyping of phenol resin-coated sand casting molds by selective laser sintering was investigated. The CO2 and diode lasers were used for the same. The experimental design techniques were used to study laser power, scan spacing and scan speed. The laser irradiation effects on the quality and accuracy of the surfaces, the adhesion between grains and layers, and the sintered thickness were evaluated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
