The study of the Southern Stoà of the agora of Kos is the result of a research activity always based on data derived from the survey of structures and architectural fragments; the hypothesis of reconstruction of the Stoà provides an important piece for the overall knowledge of the agora of Kos and its monuments. The discovery of this long porticoed building bordering the south side of the agora square has also resolved some questions regarding the topographical configuration of the central area of the city, which remained unsolved after the excavations of Luigi Morricone in the westernmost section of the Hellenistic plateia and Charis Kanzia along its easternmost continuation. In addition, the description of the monument and its reconstruction are integrated by a tight system of comparisons with the architecture of the period of the micro-Asiatic area, allowing to frame in a more precise way the architectural characteristics of the island in the Hellenistic age with the consequent attribution to the coa production of a greater importance than assumed until now.

Abstract
In addition, the description of the monument and its reconstruction are integrated by a tight system of comparisons with the architecture of the period of the micro-Asiatic area, allowing to frame in a more precise way the architectural characteristics of the island in the Hellenistic age with the consequent attribution to the coa production of a greater importance than assumed until now.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
