The present work aims at suggesting an innovative collaborative methodology to support the effective implementation of NBSs for reducing flood risk. The activities were carried out within the H2020 ‘NAIAD’ project (NAture Insurance value – Assessment and Demonstration, further details available on the website: http://www.naiad-nbs.eu/). The ambition of the methodology summarized here, is to move beyond a merely technical approach, integrating specific hydraulic modelling activities with the information and suggestions obtained by the stakeholders involved in the process of NBSs co-design. On the one hand, the presented methodology helps maximizing the effectiveness of the NBS itself, in terms of both benefits and co-benefits, and on the other hand it supports adaptive capacity of the community, contributes to awareness raising and increases decisions legitimacy.

Abstract
The present work aims at suggesting an innovative collaborative methodology to support the effective implementation of NBSs for reducing flood risk. The activities were carried out within the H2020 ‘NAIAD’ project (NAture Insurance value – Assessment and Demonstration, further details available on the website: http://www.naiad-nbs.eu/). The ambition of the methodology summarized here, is to move beyond a merely technical approach, integrating specific hydraulic modelling activities with the information and suggestions obtained by the stakeholders involved in the process of NBSs co-design. On the one hand, the presented methodology helps maximizing the effectiveness of the NBS itself, in terms of both benefits and co-benefits, and on the other hand it supports adaptive capacity of the community, contributes to awareness raising and increases decisions legitimacy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
