First activities and power-hardware-in-the-loop tests at the public research laboratory LabZERO

This paper aims at discussing some of the ongoing, or recently completed, activities in the field of smart grids and electrical power systems at the public laboratory LabZERO, recently established at the Politecnico di Bari. LabZERO aims at carrying out multidisciplinary research in collaboration with research centres, public authorities and industrial enterprises. The paper gives specific detail about the activities carried out for the completion of the 'Energy Router' project, in which the LabZERO microgrid and power-hardware-in-the-loop test facility have been employed in order to speed-up the prototyping of an experimental device.
