In recent years, the necessity to avoid the stress condition of the utility systems, to reduce the peak capacity and the energy consumption, led to the development of suitable building energy management systems in the smart city context. This paper presents a conceptual architecture of a district management system that monitors the district power consumption and sends demand reduction signals to the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMSs). Moreover, the BEMS management strategy is described in a Demand Response approach and the BEMS control unit is modeled in a Petri Net framework.

Abstract
In recent years, the necessity to avoid the stress condition of the utility systems, to reduce the peak capacity and the energy consumption, led to the development of suitable building energy management systems in the smart city context. This paper presents a conceptual architecture of a district management system that monitors the district power consumption and sends demand reduction signals to the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMSs). Moreover, the BEMS management strategy is described in a Demand Response approach and the BEMS control unit is modeled in a Petri Net framework.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
