The objective of the present work is the study of properties of several Polylactic Acid (PLA) filaments on final quality of Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) parts. The main operating parameters (design and process) of the FFF process are investigated, identifying important correlations between PLA thermal properties and part performances. A commercial FFF machine was used for realizing investigated parts, evaluating product quality in terms of mechanical strength, temperature expansion coefficient and dimensional accuracy. The experimental activity as well as procedure adopted during fabrication and testing are fully described.

Abstract
The objective of the present work is the study of properties of several Polylactic Acid (PLA) filaments on final quality of Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) parts. The main operating parameters (design and process) of the FFF process are investigated, identifying important correlations between PLA thermal properties and part performances. A commercial FFF machine was used for realizing investigated parts, evaluating product quality in terms of mechanical strength, temperature expansion coefficient and dimensional accuracy. The experimental activity as well as procedure adopted during fabrication and testing are fully described.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
