The paper introduces a novel solution to estimate the Direction of Arrival (DoA) of a radio signal received by a Uniform Linear Array. The method is based on the Lyapunov theory and its performance are comparable with those obtained with traditional algorithms, such as MUSIC or ESPRIT. The DOA is computed by means of an identification parameters process that can be performed concurrently in each array sensor. In the proposed approach the complexity doesn’t depend on the number of antenna elements in the array itself but, rather, on the sampling time and the solver type used to solve the ordinary differential equations system. The proposed algorithm is experimentally validated reporting some measurements performed in an indoor environment. The results demonstrate that the proposed procedure is able to evaluate the DoA with a mean error of 7.2e-3 and a standard deviation of 4.9e-3.
