This paper reports the complete study in the field of phase shifter for active phased array. The proposed architecture is an advanced DDS-PLLs microwaves phase shifter topology composed by the Phase Control Block (PCB) which provides phase-shifted squared waves and a certain number of PLLs used as up-converters of the squared waves provided by the PCB. In first part the mathematical considerations which are underneath the model are explained, after the hardware implementation and the prototype measurements which confirm the theoretical results are shown and finally the conclusions are presented.
