During the Fascist period, the regime founded 147 new cities, giving rise to a season of experimentation on the city theme. The project, which has among its objectives the country ruralization, started from the “Consorzi di Bonifica” (consortia to reclaim lands) and it was carried out by the “Opera Nazionale Combattenti” (national fighters opera). After the Fascist period, the Land Reform promoted the birth of rural villages and service centers. The Apulian territory is included in the Reform plan, which intervened deeply in the Tavoliere and in the Salento lands. This paper analyzes a rural village of the Reform, the Borgo "Alimini", which was designed in its entirety, but never was realized. Studies on the new cities promoted by the Fascist Regime are numerous: from the volume by S. Ruinas, “Viaggio per le città di Mussolini” (Journey through the Mussolini cities) in 1938, to that by R. Mariani, Fascismo e “città nuove” (Fascism and "new cities") of 1976, to the volume by L. Nuti and R. Martinelli, “Le città di strapaese. La politica di “fondazione” nel ventennio” (The cities of “strapaese”. The policy of "foundation" in the Fascist period) of 1981, to the paper by A. Pennacchi, “Fascio e martello. Viaggio per le città del Duce” (Fascio and hammer. A trip to the Duce cities) of 2010. The studies on the activity promoted by the Land Reform in Puglia are less significant, such as the volume of P. Dal Sasso, G. Scarascia Mugnozza and R.V. Loisi, “I paesaggi delle borgate rurali di Puglia” (Landscapes of the rural Puglia towns) in 2013. The paper research object aims to reconstruct graphically and to analyze a foundation village that should have been placed in one of the most suggestive naturalistic areas in Salento. The rural center "Alimini" was designed by Ing. Guido Ferro, academic and rector of the Padova University at the beginning of the 50s. Drawing, modeling and graphical reconstruction are tools to investigate both lost cities and architectures, reduced to the state of ruins, layered by centuries, and designed and never realized cities. The aim of the research is to know, through the drawing tools, the historical aspects related to the project of the "Alimini" city. Through the graphical reconstruction it is desired to imagine the formal consistency that the city would have assumed in relation to the places peculiarity. Furthermore, the historical events that led the Regime, and therefore the Italian State, to foundation of new cities are outlined. The project of the village "Alimini" are compared with other solutions that were created during the Fascist period and with other ones promoted by the Land Reform.
