The smart drawing for the Knowledge. The historic town of Ruvo di Puglia

It is to follow a path to research ways of interpretation of urban form, in order to understand and then communicate, that can make visible through the graphical representation, our conscious perception of the shape of the places and its intangible aspects. A real and scientific chance to understand the complexity, is to proceed by addressing its parts, identified by initiating an structuring operation, which is conscious act that is defined from time to time in relation to a given purpose. It is necessary to identify in the complexity, a number of solutions arising from simplifying processes, typical of human mind, which take into account past experience and can anticipate future, which is not emptied the complexity of the real, but add variables of vision of the problems from a different point of view. These processes are used by humans to minimize the energy, improve and speed the transmission of information, achieve smart essentiality, which can define the word "Less" for the drawing. The object of this experiment is the urban fabric of the historic town of Ruvo di Puglia – built-up of ancient origin, located north of Bari - rich in important human evidence, and more low-value building products, along testimony of human presence of each historical period.

Si tratta di cercare modalità interpretative della forma urbana, al fine di conoscere e poi comunicare, cioè rendere visibile attraverso la rappresentazione grafica, la nostra percezione cosciente della forma dei luoghi e dei suoi aspetti immateriali. Una possibilità concreta e scientifica per muoversi e capire la complessità, è procedere affrontando le sue parti, individuate avviando un’operazione strutturante, che è atto cosciente che si definisce di volta in volta in rapporto ad una finalità assegnata. È necessario individuare nella complessità, una serie di soluzioni che derivano da processi semplificativi propri della mente umana, che tengano conto dell’esperienza passata e possano anticipare il futuro, che non svuotino la complessità del reale ma aggiungano le variabili della visione dei problemi da un diverso punto di vista. “… semplificare non è semplice, perché richiede in particolare di inibire, di selezionare, di collegare, di immaginare.” (Berthoz 2011) Questi processi sono utilizzati dall’uomo per ridurre al minimo l’energia, migliorare e velocizzare la trasmissione dell’informazione, raggiungere un’essenzialità intelligente che può definire il termine “Less” per il disegno. L’oggetto di questa sperimentazione è il tessuto urbano, del centro storico della città di Ruvo di Puglia - abitato di antica origine situato a nord di Bari - ricco di testimonianze antropiche importanti e prodotti edilizi di più scarso valore, insieme segni della presenza umana di ogni periodo storico.
