The paper presents an experimental study on the effects of the timing error sources in an off-line multi-unit acquisition system. The paper evaluates the delays introduced by the receiver while processing the messages and the errors due to the commonly used operating setups. The sensor network used as a tester has a star topology with a single master that acts as a time coordinator for the subnetwork of slave units.

Abstract

The paper presents an experimental study on the effects of the timing error sources in an off-line multi-unit acquisition system. The paper evaluates the delays introduced by the receiver while processing the messages and the errors due to the commonly used operating setups. The sensor network used as a tester has a star topology with a single master that acts as a time coordinator for the subnetwork of slave units.
