The paper analyzes the influence of the pitch of the antenna elements of an array on the Angle of Arrival (AoA) estimation accuracy when employing an interferometric approach [1]. The obtained results validate the technique that seems to be very promising to be employed in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) where it is necessary to reduce power consumption associated to the RF section. In particular, the correlation between the variation of the array pitch and estimation quality degradation will be discussed from a theoretical point of view. A set of experiments will then empirically justify the theoretical results.

Abstract
The paper analyzes the influence of the pitch of the antenna elements of an array on the Angle of Arrival (AoA) estimation accuracy when employing an interferometric approach [1]. The obtained results validate the technique that seems to be very promising to be employed in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) where it is necessary to reduce power consumption associated to the RF section. In particular, the correlation between the variation of the array pitch and estimation quality degradation will be discussed from a theoretical point of view. A set of experiments will then empirically justify the theoretical results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
