The issue of the article originates from the research grant funded by the German international Daad Institution, developed at the Technische Universität of Munich, based on the study of a group of late-modern German architects as main topic. The article aims to focus especially on the work of two “master builders”, who represent the school of “detailed” designing: Karljosef Schattner (1924-2012) and Heinz Bienefeld (1926-1995). Schattner opens up a connection with the industrial field and the new production materials; Bienefeld elaborates the building body with the upgraded traditional construction techniques. These different approaches are explained by the analytical reading of emblematic works.

Abstract
The issue of the article originates from the research grant funded by the German international Daad Institution, developed at the Technische Universität of Munich, based on the study of a group of late-modern German architects as main topic. The article aims to focus especially on the work of two “master builders”, who represent the school of “detailed” designing: Karljosef Schattner (1924-2012) and Heinz Bienefeld (1926-1995). Schattner opens up a connection with the industrial field and the new production materials; Bienefeld elaborates the building body with the upgraded traditional construction techniques.
