In the context of a reflection on the reciprocal interconnections between learning spaces, welfare services and urban regeneration, Regione Puglia has attempted to mend the relationship between the city and the places of education and university training, experimenting with practices aimed at wellbeing and rethinking the role assumed by everyday life services. To that end, the instrument of the design competition was encouraged, in which participants of different ages, backgrounds and geographical origins offered a wide range of design proposals aimed at quality, innovative and sustainable architectural design and the redevelopment of strategic buildings for the urban, social and cultural context. The contribution aims to represent the first results of these activities implemented by the regional authority in the design competitions for the Infant-toddler Centres, and in the five design competitions for student residences.

Abstract
In the context of a reflection on the reciprocal interconnections between learning spaces, welfare services and urban regeneration, Regione Puglia has attempted to mend the relationship between the city and the places of education and university training, experimenting with practices aimed at wellbeing and rethinking the role assumed by everyday life services. To that end, the instrument of the design competition was encouraged, in which participants of different ages, backgrounds and geographical origins offered a wide range of design proposals aimed at quality, innovative and sustainable architectural design and the redevelopment of strategic buildings for the urban, social and cultural context. The contribution aims to represent the first results of these activities implemented by the regional authority in the design competitions for the Infant-toddler Centres, and in the five design competitions for student residences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
