In the last few years the demand of compact optical sensors for trace gas detection in the ppbv and lower concentration range is strongly increased. Quartz enhanced photoacoustic (QEPAS) is one of the most promising approach in terms of sensitivity and very compact and robust sensors has been realized using fiber-coupled NIR lasers.
